When my baby started to show symptoms of colic at around four weeks, I tried everything, from colic drops to reflux remedies but nothing seemed to work. A friend recommended I tried Bowen therapy to relieve her colic.

I took my daughter along for her first treatment with a Bowen therapist. After a quick chat and what felt like about fifteen minutes of gentle manipulation on my daughter’s back and stomach (which she loved by the way), I was sent on my way.

Almost immediately after the treatment my daughter filled her nappy. The therapist had told me this would probably happen, as the baby’s muscles started to react to the treatment. That night she only cried with colic for a brief time and the next night, NO CRYING AT ALL!!!  And the next night, nothing! The colic never came back. This powerful experience is what convinced me to train in the Bowen Technique.

Bowen therapy, not only works on the muscles, but mainly work on the fascia. Fascia is an important, highly mobile, connective tissue, which runs throughout your body. It is via the fascia that the therapist can address levels of tension and discomfort.

We purposefully move the fascia in a particular way to stimulate or relax muscle fibres in order to achieve improved posture and flexibility, pain relief and/or improved mobility

I have been a fully qualified Bowen Technique Therapist with the European College of Bowen Studies since 2012 and I have my Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology For Complementary Therapies.
